Marrakech & Ourika, Morocco

For a taste of Premium Authentic Moroccan Cuisine head to Le Marocain at La Mamounia.

Address: Avenue Prince Moulay Rachid, Marrakech, Morocco

Finish off your evening with a strolll at La Mamounia's famed rose garden, & while in Marrakech visit Jemaa El-Fnaa. I picked up the above pictured natural & lasting lip tint while at Jemaa El Fnaa. You can also find organic olive oil soap used for Moroccan baths at bargain prices, while dining on affordable and delicious street food like couscous and sweet Moroccan green tea.

For an excursion head to Ourika, and take a hike on foot to the waterfalls while simultaneously enjoying a freshly made oilve, lemon and chicken tagine at one of the many hilltop and waterfall cafe's. While in Ourika be sure to pick up a bottle of Moroccan Argan oil.

To the right is a picture from a spice market obtained from one of my favourite books titled Natural remedies of Arabia. I find that a mix of cinnamon and cayenne pepper is what gives Morroccan food its distinct flavour.

The Canadian West Coast is famous for its beautiful landscape, ocean wales, sea otters, mountains & tropical rainforests. What I discovered, however, is that Victoria is a major foodie and tourist destination. Vancouver on the other hand is the business and creative industry hub of the Canadian West Coast with many hollywood movies being filmed here due to close proximity to Los Angeles, and relatively lower costs(watch out for celebrities and film sets while walking the streets).

Take a ferry or a sea plane between Victoria and Vancouver, and enjoy the best of what the two cities have to offer. While there be sure to try the Organic Alaskan Salmon, Alaskan Crab Legs, Alaskan Lobsteres & Canadian Maple Syrup. Take a walk in the refreshing tropical rainforest or go whale watching.

For a superior Indian curry buffet, & a night of Jazz head to the Bengal Lounge at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. Relax in their red leather couches, sip on their delicious pre-dinner cocktail concussions & unwind by their fire place, which overlooks Victoria's twinkling Inner Harbour(pictured above).

Bengal Lounge at the Fairmont Empress Hotel Address: 721 Government St, Victoria, BC V8W 1W5, Canada

For a more pocket friendly experience head to Victoria's inner harbour street shops during sunset(pictured right), & take your pick of surf & turf, Canadian soda shops, Italian florentines, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican & Korean BBQ finds.

For a truely Victorian experince head to one of the inner harbours pubs, & watch a game of soccer while enjoying a shepherds pie, premium Canadian beer & a warm apple crumble on a rainy fall day.

For breakfast in Victoria I recommend the Blue Fox Cafe(be willing to stand in line for a taste of their spicy buttered eggs), or head to the Victoria inner harbour for some cripsy buttered maple pancakes & Eggs benedict with Alaskan shrimp or salmon. For street food in Victoria head to the Caribbean Soul Food shop, & warm your soul with a Caribbean spiced meat and potato wrap.

Blue Fox Cafe address: 919 Fort St, Vancouver Island, BC V8V 3K3, Canada

Caribbean Soul Food shop address:

Head to nearby Vancouver and watch the Vancouver Canucks play ice hockey, or head to Whistler Mountain during Januray for a truly Canadian skiing experience. For uptown bites head to Cordova street(Vancouver waterfront is pictured top right), or head to quirky Yaletown and enjoy a spa day at Pink Lime Salon & Spa while touring the towns clothing boutiques and furniture shops. Finish off the day with dinner at one of Yaletowns hip lounges or restaurants(I recommend Opus lounge at the Opus Hotel).

PInk Lime Salon & Spa address: 1192 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 2S2, Canada

Opus lounge at the Opus Hotel address:

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Home to the world's tallest building, & a city that fuses the trendy & cutting edge with its rooted Gulf traditions Dubai is perhaps the most popular Gulf tourist destination. Dubai offers a range of restaurants varying in cuisines from Asian fusion, to Spanish tapas, to superior seafood, Indian, Italian, Lebanese and of course traditional Emirati. Whether dining at Logma among locals during a sunny Dubai afternoon, or lounging downtown at trendy Toko Dubai is vastly enjoyable for the majority of tastes and budgets. Downtown Dubai, & Sheikh Zayed road light up at night with budget friendly candle lit restaurants, glittering palm trees and of course shimmering Burj Khalifa along with its musical fountain display! Relax, & sip on delicous pre-dinner cocktails at Iris(Dubai's best open air rooftop lounge) on the 27th floor of The Oberoi Hotel. Enjoy a divinely smelling shisha(hookah) while sipping on cocktails, and enjoying veal, duck & truffle dumplings at Toko(Vida Hotel). For Spanish Tapas head to Boca in Dubai's financial centre. During the day visit  Jumeirah, & Dubai Marina and bask in Dubai's private sunny beaches. While in Jumeirah visit the Palm Dubai resort, & dine at Anantara an Asian fusion hotspot offering a mix of Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes. Take a desert Safari tour, or visit the 125th floor of Burj Khalifa and snap memorable pictures of Dubai's skyline. Head to the Traditional Gold Souk, which sells locally crafted 24 Karat gold  for reasonable prices. History buffs should head to Al-Fahidi where buildings date back to the 1780's. While in Dubai be sure to try the Gulf region's freshly caught seafood. The best seafood is rumored to be at Catch Dubai, which is at The Downtown Fairmont Hotel.
